ESF Committee - comprising of Member State representatives, trade unions, and employer's organisations, the ESF Committee assists the the Commission in the adminstration of the European Social Fund.

Employment & Social Affairs Committee (European Parliament) - shares decision making power with the Council of Ministers on the European Social Fund Regulation. Also responsible for social policy and discrimination.

Working Party on the future of the European Social Fund - Chaired by Pascale Gruny, reports to the Committee on Regional Development
Regional Development Committee - chaired by former Regional Development Commissioner Danuta Hubner. Since the passage of the Lisbon Treaty the Committee now has equal decision making power with the Council of Ministers in making general rules for the Structural Funds.

The Employment Committee - monitors the employment situation and employment policies of the Member States. Prepares discussions in the Council of Ministers with regard to the Employment Guidelines, Joint Employment Report, and Recommendations on the implementation of national employment policies.

Social Protection Committee - effectively acts as an expert committee on Social Policy. The SPC has been central to the review and development of the Social Open Method of Co-ordination. Likely to be instrumental in the development of the flagship 'European Platform Against Poverty'. The Social Protection Committee is composed of two delegates from each Member State and the Commission. The UK reps are from DWP and FCO.
