TSEN, in partnership
with its regional members in the South West South West Voluntary Foru, South West Action on Poverty, and the DWP Inclusion Unit hosted the penultimate in the series of events building momentum for the year and highlighting how the European Social Fund can be used to tackle poverty.
Speakers (amongst others) included Jim Knight, (Minister for the South West and Employment and Welfare reform) and Tamara Flanagan, Chair of TSEN. Mr Knight said that EY2010 is the opportunity to reflect on practice to alleviate poverty and the impact of this practice.
It was also the opportunity to consider the importance of European Programmes in reaching those with multiple disdvantage, Mr Knight stressed the importance of European Programmes in reaching those with multiple disadvantage. Mr Knight stressed the importance of government working with the third sector and local authorities to tackle poverty.
